Epidemiologist
Duties and responsibilities:
 Epidemiologists study the frequency and distribution of diseases within human populations and environments. Specifically, they measure the incidence of disease occurrence and relate it to different characteristics of populations and environments. Epidemiologists perform research, education, and public health practice in universities, government agencies, international organizations, and private corporations. Epidemiologist often:
·       Work on developing or refining methods of measuring and evaluating disease occurrences
·       Develop and recommend public health policy
·       Study or research chronic disease, infectious diseases, disease outbreaks, injuries, occupations, and environments.

Average Salary: $30,000- $50,000
 Educational Requirements:
Students should take the most challenging high school courses (including AP or IB courses) available in science, math, and English
Epidemiologists have as minimum; master’s degrees in public health graduate programs vary by schools but usually include strong backgrounds in biology, chemistry, mathematics, and or statistics.

Environmental Health Specialist
Duties and Responsibilities:

What they do is to ensure that they control the regulation of food, consultation, education and more importantly a standard that governs the sanitation of foods such as milk, solids, water, wastes that are hazardous and infectious to human health. They also make sure that institutional environments, housing and sewage's are worked on to help preserve the life of every individual since life is a vital entity that must be preserved.  An environmental health specialist should be able to prevent hazardous substance such as disposable or
infectious waste from contaminating the environment. This extends to the construction of disposable systems that will help direct these wastes in a safer and risk free manner, causing no outbreak of diseases or pollution.


Average Yearly Salary; 23.74 - $36.67 Hourly $1,899.20 - $2,933.60 Biweekly $49,379.20 - $76,273.60 Annually
Education:
Students interested in becoming an environmental health specialist should take high school courses in algebra, geometry, trigonometry, calculus, biology, chemistry, physics, English, literature, computer skills, and health occupations/medical professions education. Environmental health must have a high school diploma or the equivalent

-I’m not interested in becoming an environmental health specialist, it’s interesting but it’s not my type I want to be a psychologist  , I respect all the work that they do but I wouldn’t like to study for that.

Electroneurodiagnostic technologist
Duties and responsibilities
Electroneurodiagnostic technologist use electronic graph to determine if patients are suffering from a central nervous system condition or disease like epilepsy, tumor, stroke, or trauma. They graphs are records of the brains electrical activity.
Electroneurodiagnostic technologist usually works in hospitals, laboratories, or physicians’ offices. They
µ     Prepare medical records
µ     Apply electrodes and select instruments settings
µ     Perform eletroneurodiagnostic
µ     Adjust and maintain their equipment
µ     Record test results
µ     Identify patients abnormalities

Average salary $20,000-$35000

Educational requirement:
Electroneurodiagnostic technologists must have a high school degree diploma and some courses in computer technology before beginning specialized training
Electroneudiagnostic training can be obtained through vocational schools, community colleges, and in some cases hospitals. Training takes one year and is followed by another year of supervised experience. Before beginning practice electroneudiagnostic technologist must pass written and oral examinations.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Electrocardiograph (ECG or EKG) technicians usually work under the supervision  of  cardiologist in hospitals, doctors offices , clinics, or bedside. They operate electrocardiogram equipment to monitor patient’s heart problems. They :


Ø Connect electrodes to patients
Ø Insert and remove catheter
Ø Monitor equipment output
Ø Record test results
Ø Identify emergency or  abnormalities
Ø Operate ultrasound equipment
Average salary:$15,000-$32,000
Education requirements:
Electrocardiogram technicians must have a high school diploma or GED beginning specialized training specialized training.
Electrocardiogram training can be obtained through vocational schools, community colleges and in some cases through on the job supervised experience. Basic training takes three months. Advance training takes one or two years.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Registered Dietitians provide advice and education about nutrition and its effect on health. They work in schools, educational administration, research, hospitals, clinics, industry, food services management, and private practice Registered Dietitians:

·         Organize and supervise food service operations and meal preparation
·         Make dietary recommendations
·         Counsel patients and clients about diets
·         Supervise food purchasing
·         Study the nutritional value of food and how it is us used by the body

Average Salary:$30,000-$40,000
Educational Requirements:
Students should take a challenging high school curriculum that includes mad and science courses. High school business courses may also prove helpful.
A bachelor’s Degree in dietetics or a related field approved by the American Dietetic Association is required. Registered dietitians must also pass a professional exam and complete a supervised practicum.

Duties and Responsibilities:
Dietetic Technicians assist dietitians in evaluating, organizing, and concluding nutritional services and programs for schools, hospitals and industry. They:

µ Gather and evaluate diet histories
µ Assist in planning patient meals
µ Provide nutritional counseling
µ Conduct food service operations
µ Oversee food preparation and service
µ Maintaining records

Averaged Salary:$16,000-$30,000
Educational Requirements:
Students wanting to become dietetic technicians should graduate from high school with a well-rounded program. High school business courses may prove helpful.
Dietetic technicians must complete a two-year Associates degree program that is accepted by the American Dietetic Association. They must then pass a Commission on Dietetics Registration examination.
