Student Success Statement
“The right way is not always the popular and easy way. Standing for right when it is unpopular is a true test of moral character.”
Margaret Chase Smith

-: What this is trying to say is that doing right is not always the easiest or popular thing to do so if you still do it, it will show your moral character. It is very easy to follow what other people are doing. It takes true “moral character” to avoid falling into the crowd. For example, if you are at a party and everyone is consuming alcohol and someone offers you a drink, it would be much easier to say yes rather than say no. This would be especially true if they told you either had to take it or leave. It would be the unpopular choice to say no and leave but it would be the right choice. That would show true moral character. By falling into peer pressure you are just taking the easy way out. Don’t take the easy way out!
